A snow storm has hit Oklahoma – and transformed the SWOSU campus in a white winter wonderland.

The SWOSU administration cancelled classes for Wednesday and Thursday, and it is likely that classes on Friday will be cancelled, too.

Employees of the Physical Plant started removing snow, despite weather forecasts predicting more snow for today. As of 11 a.m., there is light snow on campus, but according to several forecasts, another snowstorm and snow showers are expect to hit Weatherford later on today.

A winter storm warning by the National Weather Service is in effect until 6 p.m. today, with possible additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. These cold wind chills are expected with readings between 5 and 15 below zero at times. This could result in hypothermia in a short amount of time without precautions taken. Roads are in slippery conditions, among many others East Davis Avenue.
