SWOSU Soccer Earns At Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – SWOSU Soccer has been selected for the NCAA Tournament via an at-large bid, announced Monday evening during the NCAA Division II Selection Show.

SWOSU (13-6-1) earned the No. 8 seed in the Central Region and will begin their postseason journey on Friday in Warrensburg against No. 1-seed Central Missouri. This is the fourth all-time appearance for the Bulldogs in the Central Regional, with previous trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2012, 2017 and 2019. All three of SWOSU’s previous appearances in the tournament have been ended by UCM in Warrensburg.

The Bulldogs hold an 0-10 record all-time against the Jennies dating back to 2005, which includes a 1-0 defeat in Weatherford back on September 4th of the current season.

Other matchups in the Central Regional include (2) Emporia State vs (7) Northwest Missouri State, (3) Bemidji State vs. (6) Central Oklahoma, and (4) Minnesota State vs. (5) Oklahoma Baptist. This is the first time in conference history two teams from the GAC have qualified for the regional tournament. Game times for the regional will be announced later in the week.
