The Oklahoma Research Day 2020 is coming to Southwestern Oklahoma State University on March 6.

Restoration will be at 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in the SWOSU Pioneer Cellular Event Center. Poster session 1 is from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Wellness. Lunch will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a guest speaker at this time. After lunch, poster session 2 is at 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The guest speaker is Dr. Bonnie Dunbar. She is a former NASA astronaut, engineer, and educator. She is currently with Texas A&M College of Engineering as a professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering.

ORD was established to create the opportunity for students and faculty from multiple institutions to interact with their counterparts in their respective disciplines.

“The Oklahoma Research Day is an excellent opportunity to do what other students are doing with their research. I am constantly amazed at how brilliant the students are and the quality of their work.” Elaine Davies, SWOSU professor and partial organizer of ORD, said.

There are currently 842 registered for ORD from 14 various universities. Of those registered, 166 are SWOSU students. Overall, there will be 554 that showcase posters. These numbers do not include onsite registration.

The theme this year is “Exploring Excellence.” The theme for ORD was created by a group of SWOSU students, who also made significant contributions to the poster.

For more information about ORD, it can be found on their Facebook page or on the official website http://www.oklahomaresearchday.com.
