The Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars were announced on Monday with three Lady Bulldogs among a group of 1,401 women’s collegiate golfers recognized.
All three of SWOSU’s selections are underclassmen as freshmen Rebecca Lau and Georgia Miller joined sophomore Mikaela Rindermann in earning a spot on the team. This is the first time each individual has earned a spot on the All-American Scholar Team, which requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
SWOSU head golf coach Brad Fleetwood: “I’m extremely proud of Rebecca, Georgia and Mikaela for earning this All-American Scholar honor. Their dedication to excelling in the classroom and on the golf course is a great representation of our university and of our golf program.”
SWOSU women’s golf has now had 11 individuals claim 16 selections to the WGCA All-American Scholar Teams, with at least one student-athlete earning the honor in eight of the past nine seasons. Previous selections include: Jessica Heard (2012-14), Ashlynn Hall (2014), Victoria Dobbie (2014), Courtney Gourdin (2016), Emily Folsom (2017-18), Elin Wahlin (2017-19), Tracy McGill (2018) and Gloria Choi (2019).
