The Lady Bulldogs, who finished the season with an 18-4 record, earned the #11 final ranking in the D2SIDA Media Poll while being slotted at #15 in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll. This is the third time in the past four seasons that SWOSU earned a final ranking from the WBCA after previously ending the 2019 season ranked #2 and the 2018 season ranked #20.

SWOSU made their sixth NCAA Division II National Tournament appearance under head coach Kelsi Musick and earned the #2 seed in the South Central Regional. The Lady Bulldogs defeated #11 Texas A&M-Commerce 97-79 in the regional semifinals to advance to the regional championship, where they matched up with #1-ranked and eventual National Champion Lubbock Christian, dropping a 78-65 decision to the Lady Chaps.

The success of the Lady Bulldogs came with a youthful roster that included seven underclassmen, including Great American Conference Player of the Year Makyra Tramble, who had a masterful sophomore season that culminated with her earning a Third Team All-America selection from the D2CCA.
