Learning about "Be The Match" program
By Lexi Clark
SWOSU’s Black Student Union will be sponsoring a presentation Thursday, March 12, by the Be The Match organization.
Be The Match is an organization operated by the National Marrow Donor Program. By assisting patients with finding life-saving marrow donors and providing support throughout the transplant process, Be The Match works to save lives through bone marrow transplants.
The organization offers a potential cure for those with life-threatening blood cancers and similar conditions.
At the event, Be The Match representatives will inform individuals about the purpose of their organization. They will also provide information on opportunities to support patients in need of bone marrow transplants.
The presentation will take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Wesley Foundation, located at 817 N. 17th St. It is open to the public and free to anyone who would like to attend, and lunch will be provided.
