The Musical Therapy program is having Music Therapy Awareness week starting Monday, March 1. This event is a fundraiser, and everyone is welcome to participate.
Music Therapy Awareness week is held every year, with this year’s activities looking a little bit different because of the pandemic. However, there will be many activities going on.
Monday will feature a cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, sodas, and other snacks. The cookout starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. outside of the Fine Arts building.
Tuesday, there will be a bake sale at the Fine Arts building, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes, and other baked goodies will be available. This will also be held outside of FA.
On Thursday, there will be an open mic night on Zoom at 7 p.m. It will include activities such as karaoke, lip sync and even play air guitar.
There will be a Professor Karaoke Challenge Fundraiser with faculty from the Music Department.
Feel free to give money to the professor you would most like to see perform and the professor with the most money will perform during open mic night.
The meeting ID for the open mic night can be found on the MTSA Facebook page.
And on Friday, there will be a breakfast bar from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be eggs, sausage biscuits, doughnuts, and other breakfast items.
Money from the fundraiser will help the department buy instruments, equipment and other resources which will be used during classes and field studies.
