Pioneer Cellular serves as underwriting sponsor of 2020 SWOSU Athletic Auction
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Athletic Association has announced that longtime SWOSU benefactor Pioneer Cellular will serve as underwriting sponsor of the 14th annual Athletic Auction.
In this capacity, Pioneer Cellular will provide key financial support for this major SWOSU fundraising activity.
This year’s Auction will be conducted entirely online, with bidding open from Aug. 8-29 at www.SWOSUAthleticAuction.com.
The SWOSU Athletic Association directors and SWOSU Athletic Department recognize the unprecedented economic difficulties facing many of the auction's traditional sponsors and have moved the event to an online format in an effort to reduce event production costs and maximize the fundraising revenues that go directly to SWOSU's student-athletes.
Additionally, the association and department leaders recognize continued concerns related to large social gatherings in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a temporary adjustment that reduces event costs in an environment when many auction sponsors are facing significant economic challenges and that recognizes the continued complications associated with hosting large gatherings amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is the preference and intent of the association and department to return the auction to its customary in-person format and itinerary in 2021.
SWOSU Interim Athletic Director Todd Helton: "The continued growth of the Athletic Association would not be possible without the faithful support and collaboration of partners like Pioneer Cellular. We are so very grateful to have Pioneer Cellular serving as underwriting sponsor for the auction this year. This sponsorship is crucial as it helps to ensure that every penny raised as part of the auction goes to supporting scholarships for our student-athletes and recruitment resources to enhance our athletic programs.”
All proceeds from the auction benefit SWOSU's athletic scholarships and recruitment efforts. For more information about the auction, visit the website for the fundraiser – SWOSUAthleticAuction.com – as it will be updated with a full list of items regularly.

The SWOSU Athletic Association is a subsidiary of the SWOSU Foundation Inc., which was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy, award scholarships, and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU.
