SWOSU donates masks to local hospitals

President Randy Beutler delivered part of SWOSU's supply of protective masks to area hospitals for health care workers.
Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford recently donated a large number of protective masks to area hospitals for health care workers.
SWOSU had a large supply on hand, and President Randy Beutler felt the university could donate part of the supply to assist area hospitals, which have dwindling supplies and shortages.
“SWOSU has a large number of health-related disciplines so we fortunately have a large supply that we typically use in our lab areas,” Beutler said. “The hospitals work with so many of our students, and we felt it was appropriate to help our medical friends in western Oklahoma.”
With the university moving to virtual learning for the rest of the spring semester, students will not be on campus and not using these supplies.
Beutler personally delivered the masks on March 23-24.
