SWOSU prepares for annual SWIM

SWOSU is hosting its 107th Southwestern Interscholastic Meet on Thursday, March 26.

Testing will take place at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. It will be taking place all over campus.


There will be approximately 50 schools bringing students to compete. There can be 2 contestants from a school per test. The subjects being covered are math, language, social science, physical science, biology, fine arts, business, computer science, and technology. Overall, there will be about 2,000 tests taken.


The SWIM competition is for high school students, however there will also be a few 8th graders taking the tests as well.


Awards are given out. There is the Sweepstakes Award which is given to the school with the highest overall scores. After that, certificates are given to those scoring the highest in specific subjects.


Last years winning schools for the Sweepstakes Award were Putnam City, Weatherford, and Drummond.
