SWOSU Sayre: 10 students awarded $38,500 in scholarships

Ten continuing students were recently awarded Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre Foundation scholarships for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year.


Recipients include the following:


  • Jera Diltz, Elk City, $5,000 Paul & Dottie Flick Scholarship

  • Kelsey Twman, Lexington, $5,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship

  • Alyssa Bonser, Sayre, $5,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship

  • Bailey McCuistion, Rocky, $5,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship

  • Trinity Jordan, Elk City, $5,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship

  • Jennie Easter, Sayre, $5,000 Bill W. and Beatrice F. Fuller Scholarship

  • Jacob Costello, Elk City, $3,500 Cecil and Gladys Lewis Scholarship

  • Jacie Piercy, Sayre, $2,000 William G and June W. Stovall Scholarship

  • John Peckham, Elk City, $1,500 Andy & Dora Farmer Scholarship

  • Kaitlyn Hinkle, Sayre, $1,500 Andy & Dora Farmer Scholarship


 “These students are worthy recipients, because they exemplify the traits necessary to succeed in college,” said SWOSU-Sayre Dean Bill Swartwood.  “And these generous scholarships will help them achieve their educational goals.”


The scholarships are awarded to continuing students based on grades, community involvement, work ethic and leadership qualities.


Swartwood said the SWOSU-Sayre campus is very proud of all the Foundation scholarship winners and wish them the best as they continue their education.
