The SWOSU Women’s team made the drive on I-40 East to face Southern Nazarene for the 3rd time this season and looking for their 3rd win against the Crimson Storm. SNU was able to take a 2-point lead after the first quarter thanks to SWOSU’s 30% 3-point shooting and their own 69.2% field goal percentage.

The Lady Dawgs were able to stay in the ball game and take the lead at the half, 31-29, thanks to SNU shooting just 20% in the 2nd quarter. The Bulldogs also forced the Crimson Storm to commit 12 turnovers to their 6 which helped them secure the lead heading into the 2nd half. Neither team had scorers in double figures, but SWOSU’s Makyra Tramble led the scoring overall with 8 points.

The 3rd quarter remained the way the 1st half ended, SWOSU up 2. A much better shooting quarter from both teams and they headed into the 4th, 49-47. SNU was able to pull away with steady scoring and a stifling full-court press to hand the Bulldogs their 2nd loss of the season, 73-63. SWOSU is now 11-2 on the year.

Their next game is set to take place Saturday in Weatherford, Okla. against the Lady Bison of Oklahoma Baptist at 2 p.m.
