Todd Wiggen honored with ALE Rising Star Award

Dr. Todd Wiggen, assistant professor in the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Everett Dobson School of Business & Technology in Weatherford, has won the Rising Star Award from the Association of Leadership Educators (ALE).
The national award recognizes an early career ALE member whose leadership and service upholds and embodies the association’s mission to strengthen and sustain the expertise of professional leadership educators.
Wiggen has served the association as a conference mentor, reviewer for the Journal of Leadership Education, conference reviewer, and as a member of the conference planning committee (serving as chair of the Speaks Subcommittee). He was recently elected to a two-year term as secretary on the association’s Board of Directors.
Wiggen serves as coordinator of SWOSU’s Reach Higher FlexFinish program and served as the four-year council chair for the state of Oklahoma this past year. Reach Higher is a program designed for working adults that have already completed an Associate’s degree or have at least 60 hours of previous college credit with hopes of earning a Bachelor’s degree. SWOSU’s program allows the student to complete all their coursework online and provides courses in a mixture of 8- and 16-week formats.
The ALE Rising Star Award applicants must have achieved less than five years of professional service in their respective field.
