A good start into the new basketball season for the Lady Bulldogs. In Ada, Oklahoma, they won over East Central University 92-77 on Thursday evening.

Early in the 1st quarter, Karly Gore paved the way towards victory with a quick layup. At the 7:45 mark of the 1st quarter, SWOSU held a 9-2 lead and ended the 1st frame with a 15-10 lead.

During the 2nd quarter, they then jumped out to a comfortable 20-point lead and held out a 15-point lead to head into halftime. Makyra Tramble mainly contributed to that with a strong 18 points and 4/6 from beyond the arc. For ECU, Izzy Cummins led the way with 9 points.

In the 3rd quarter, a scrappy ECU team cut SWOSU's lead down to 10 points, but the Lady Dawgs bounced back to go up 15 heading into the final frame. Tramble led the way as she added 2 more 3’s in the second half as the Dawgs kept the Tigers on distance and eventually won the game 92-77.

Tramble ended the game with 27 points and went 6/12 from 3-point land. Taber Beer added 12 points in the 2nd half and ended up with 15 total points and went 3/3 from 3-point land.

ECU’s Izzy Cummins led the way for the Lady Tigers with 23 points, 5 rebounds and shot 9/16 from the floor.

The Lady Dawgs head home on Saturday for a matchup with Southeastern Oklahoma State (2 p.m.).
